Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy

Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH) is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with the added benefits of hypnosis. CBT is a method of self-guidance/management. Once learned, the process becomes your personal puncture repair kit on the road to a successful and fulfilled life.

It is ancient wisdom in a modern easy to understand formula summed up in the words of the Stoic philosopher Epictetus and roughly translated as

“It's not what happens to you but how you react to it that matters.”

It's as easy as ABC

A is what happens to us (life's swings and roundabouts/snakes 'n ladders.)

B is the beliefs we adopt about the things that happen.

C is the consequences of the B (i.e. emotions, symptoms, behaviours etc.)

We have a tendency to turn what we want into what we must have and in so doing we cause ourselves anxiety, not only when we don't get what we are demanding but also when we do because there is always the possibility that we might lose whatever it is we have decided we can't live without.

It can be status, love, money, possessions, the minute we decide we have to have something we give ourselves a problem; cultivating healthy preference instead of demand takes the pressure off and gives us a much better chance of achieving our goals.

Research studies are showing that CBT is effective and that CBH is even better.
